to ''CAN YOU SEE ME NOW? - The play at home travel game" for Matt Wechsler's
world trip. Playing is not only easy and will keep you up to date with my
travels...it's fun too!!!
As I travel the globe in the second half of 2004, many people - old friends,
new friends, family, complete strangers - want to be kept in the loop with
updates on how my adventures are going and if, well, to put it bluntly, I'm
still alive and kicking. Well, no need to worry because this site is now
going to give everyone a nice warm fuzzy feeling about my status - and let you
live vicariously through me by participating in ''CAN YOU SEE ME NOW? - The
play at home game!''
So, why should you play? What's in it for you? Well, at the conclusion
of my trip, I will award the winner of the game based on cumulative points with
an exclusive reward of a souvenir of my choice from a location of my choice.
Additionally, you will receive a limited edition, exclusive Matt Wechsler
World Tour 2004 t-shirt with the photo of your choice on it. Prize value
depends on my bank account, locations economy, exchange rates, physical size of
item, how much I like you and probably other factors as well.

12/2/04 Location is CLOSED. Translation is N/A. This is at the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa. It's [roughly] where the Atlantic and Indian oceans meet. It depends on the day though...the location shifts due to winds and tides, etc all the time. The funny thing is that both oceans really look the same. Like water. So you are basically looking at water merging into water. Nice hike up to the peak though!

11/26/04 Location is CLOSED. Translation is N/A. Bonus was awarded. The Pope and I are old buddies. Can't you tell he's waving at me? I think I got a wink too! It was quite a privelage to see him speak inside St. Peter's Basilica. Doesn't happen very often. I think it was because he heard I was coming. It was also nothing short of a miracle to com down there in the poring rain, and then as soon as we stepped in San Pietro square, the skies parted and the sun came out. Divine intervention I guess.

Not sure if they still use it for anything, but very cool olympic statues here of athletes of each of the sports in the olympics when it was in Rome. Found this randomly when I went to the SS Lazzio game at the stadium...see above.

The main Vapretto (water taxi) stop is rigt here - as well as the main tourist vendors (of course). It's when you walk away from this area that you find the real Venice though.
