11/26/04 Location is CLOSED. Translation is N/A. Bonus was awarded. The Pope and I are old buddies. Can't you tell he's waving at me? I think I got a wink too! It was quite a privelage to see him speak inside St. Peter's Basilica. Doesn't happen very often. I think it was because he heard I was coming. It was also nothing short of a miracle to com down there in the poring rain, and then as soon as we stepped in San Pietro square, the skies parted and the sun came out. Divine intervention I guess.

What is amazing is that you saw the Pope and you saw him inside the Vatican, which is doubly amazing.

THE RULES OF PLAY

OK. Now that your ready to play, here are the basics of how it works:

1. Every opportunity I get, I will be posting a picture of myself in front of at least one specific location in each city I visit on my travels. These pictures will not be posted daily because, well, I am travelling and I have better things to do. I hope to put a group of posts up about every 7-10 days, but that could become either more or less often depending on a lot of variables out of your control so you'll have to just figure it out and deal with it.

2. Each photo I post will include the caption ''Can you see me now?'' in the native language of where the photo is from (*assuming no special font characters are needed). Sometimes you will be able to see me. Other times you wont.

3. Each photo AND each caption will have point values assigned to them determined based on difficulty..

4. Once a photo and caption are posted by me, it will be considered in play.

5. Each entry will provide two opportunities to score points:

- The first player to correctly identify the exact location of the photo (location of interest/ city/ country) will be awarded the points associated with that photo.

- The first player to respond to the question posed in the caption correctly with either a 'yes' or 'no' written in the country of origins native language will win those points declared for that post..
Some posts may have additional opportunities to score as declared in the original post by me.

6. To play, simply post you answer as a comment on the post you are playing. Be the first to answer correctly in your comments and you will win (I will determine this the next time I log on to the site). Once both the photo AND the caption have been won, I will announce the winners, assign them their respective points and update the leaderboard, and add any notes of interest from that photo or the city it was taken in.

Just because the points have been won doesn't mean that the comments for that post need to stop...feel free to keep making fun of the guy in the photo amongst yourselves publicly if desired. Just be aware of number 7 below.

7. I will retain the right to either GIVE or TAKE points away with no declaration of cause at any time. I can do that because I created the game. Don't ask for points because that won't work (unless you become a site sponsor of course).

8. No player can win both the photo and the caption on any single post so pick your odds before commenting (consult your Vegas bookie if desired).

9. Rules. See above for short version. See here for long version (although not remotely accurate or appropriate...they are rules I wrote for something else so I thought I would include them). Keep in mind I reserve the right to change and/ or add and make up the rules as we go. As I said before, I can do that because I made the game.
